New dates have just been announced for the St. Louis Regional Transit-Oriented Development Study! The next round of public meetings have been scheduled to discuss opportunities for TOD around the North Hanley, JJK/Emerson Park, Fairveiw Heights, Rock Road, and Union Station/Civic Center MetroLink Stations. New Sculpture Debuts Thursday at the Stadium MetroLink Station
Just in time for the Cardinals’ 2013 season, the Stadium MetroLink Station will unveil its new sculpture on March 28. The sculpture is the second of ten projects planned as part of the Metro Arts in Transit program that will take place over the next few years. Last year, an art installment at the Wellston MetroLink Station kicked off the project, which aims to upgrade stations along the MetroLink alignment. St. Louis Rapid Transit Connector Study Launches Public Meetings Series
The St. Louis Rapid Transit Connector Study is being conducted to determine what transit projects are needed for the St. Louis region and which should be considered to apply for federal funding, as part of the region’s long-range plan, Moving Transit Forward. St. Louis County, the City of St. Louis, Metro, MODOT, and East-West Gateway Council of Governments have partnered to create a plan that will move community goals forward. Study Shows Transit Access Boosts Housing Prices
The new study titled “The New Real Estate Mantra Location Near Public Transportation” by the Center for Neighborhood Technology, compares residential property values of homes with access to transit to those in the region as a whole. Home values for five different regions (Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Phoenix, and San Francisco) between 2006 and 2011 were researched for the report. All five regions consistently reported higher values for homes with access to transit. On average, residential property values near transit were 41.6%…
