Zimride blazes new trails with National Park Foundation

Zimride_Web_GraphicZimride by Enterprise, a service of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, is launching a promotion to support the National Park Foundation and its recreational, educational and service programs, including Active Trails. The Active Trails program advocates healthy lifestyles while simultaneously protecting and enhancing precious land and water trail resources.

Zimride by Enterprise is a secure new ride-sharing platform administered in partnership with Citizens for Modern Transit in St. Louis for companies, universities and individuals. It enables those in need of a ride, or with an empty seat to share, to join a private network that connects them with co-workers, fellow students or other commuters who have similar routes and commuting schedules.

Zimride is free and can also be used in tandem with transit to help eliminate any gaps that may exist between local transit stations and a user’s home, work or college campus.

Zimride  will donate $1 to the National Park Foundation for every new member or new ride posted in April – up to $10,000. In addition, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation – the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings Inc., which owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car – will match Zimride’s contributions dollar for dollar. This promotion is available in every state except for Alabama, Illinois and Massachusetts.
By the end of the month, Zimride aims to engage 10,000 new and existing members with the goal of raising $20,000 total for the National Park Foundation. That’s enough to fund guided bike tours for community youth at New River Gorge National River or restorative outdoor experiences for veterans at Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site.
