Transportation Day is right around the corner – Join us!

Transportation Day 2012 is set for February 1, 2012 in Jefferson City.  I hope you will consider joining us in our efforts by attending this day of meetings with key legislators at the state Capitol.   We have heard from legislators that they do no think transit is a priority for people in Missouri because they are not hearing it is a priority.  WE THINK IT IS A PRIORITY for individuals, businesses and the region. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ENSURE THE LEGISLATORS GET THE MESSAGE!

MoDOT is requesting $3.06 million for transit operations in the state this year.  This request would return us to FY10 funding levels. Missouri ranks near the bottom with regards to support for transit.  Let’s help move this funding forward!

Several ways to  help:

• Join us on Feb. 1 in Jefferson City. Email info@cmt-stl.org with your name and address if you will be available.  We will make sure you are included in group meetings with the key members of the Transportation and Appropriations committees.
• Email or call your local state representative and senator asking for their support for transit.
