Transformation set for Broadview Hotel in East St. Louis

This week, the City of East St. Louis broke ground on the historic Broadview Hotel in Downtown East St Louis to welcome the first large scale project in three decades, steps from the Fifth and Missouri Transit Center.

The city along with their partners are set to refurbish the vacant hotel into a mature adult housing complex with the goal of opening in 2024. This new housing complex will house 110 rooms for residents, along with mixed-used office spaces and a retail space on the lower level.

“The Fifth and Missouri Transit Transformation project which is underway steps from the  Broadview Hotel will only add to the rebirth of this portion of downtown East St. Louis. This development will not only add residential units within walking distance of the station, it will also add retail and amenities,” said Kim Cella, executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit.
