The Spring 2022 Ten Toe Express® Session will kick off on Wednesday, April 6, and run for 12 weeks. The AARP sponsored program started in 2007 and has introduced more than 8,000 active older adults and residents to the region’s transit system and the places they can go using it. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 – Kickoff Walk to the City Foundry with Great Rivers Greenway
The Future Brickline Greenway with Special Guest Walk Leader from Great Rivers Greenway
Great Rivers Greenway makes the St. Louis region a more vibrant place to live, work, and play by developing a network of greenways. One such greenway that is getting a lot of attention is the Brickline Greenway. This walk will begin at the Cortex MetroLink Station where walkers will be guided through a short section of the completed greenway, then walk to the City Foundry while hearing from Great Rivers Greenway staff about plans for the greenway and partnerships they are working on, including elevated walking paths, art, and equality initiatives. Walkers will then have an opportunity to purchase lunch at the City Foundry Food Hall.

Thursday, May 19 – MetroLink and MicroBrews- Ferguson Brewing Company
The Ferguson Brewing Company has been in business since April 14, 2010, and originally opened as Hill Brewing Company. In 2011 they changed their name to support their more regional approach and appreciation for the neighborhood. Walkers will visit with the on-staff brewer to learn more about the brewing process that takes place in their snug yet efficient brewery space with a 20 barrel system, which has the capacity to maintain 8 year-round selections and their rotating seasonal beers.

Thursday, June 9 – Big Shark Bicycle Company has big offerings for Bike Commuters
Big Shark Bicycle Company is a full-service bike shop in downtown St. Louis located is adjacent to the Downtown Bicycle Station on Locust Street. The Downtown Bicycle Station offers secure 24-hour access and features over 120 bike racks, showers, and locker rooms and is ideal for bicyclists commuting to work or looking to exercise on their lunch break. The Downtown Bicycle Station is supported by Great Rivers Greenway, The City of St. Louis, and Downtown STL. Walkers will learn about how everyday commuters use these assets in combination with transit to get around the region for their daily work commute.
