STL Transit Ridership Ticking Up Over Prior  Year

At a recent Bi-State Board of Commissioners Operations Meeting, Metro Transit Executive Director Charles Stewart reported transit ridership is on the rise over prior year.   MetroBus ridership is up 5.2 percent over prior year and MetroLink ridership has increased more than 7 percent.

Stewart indicated there are still operator shortages impacting service including more than 200 bus operators, 18 MetroLink operators, mechanics and more. This shortage led to service reductions at the end of 2022 to match service levels with available operator staff.   Stewart did say there would be a March service adjustment as well, but this would be to improve timing of the service.
