On Monday, March 22, 2021, the Regional Transit Task Force along with their partners, Citizens for Modern Transit, Metro Transit, Crisis Intervention Unit – Homeless Outreach and the St. Louis County Community Outreach Unit will be holding a Bicycle Helmet Give Away to the benefit the children of the region who utilize public transportation. The Helmets First! Organization along with Dr. Joseph Cangas has made a generous donation of bicycle helmets for this event.

From 3 pm to 5 pm members of the Regional Transit Task Force will be out at the North Hanley MetroLink Station, located at 4300 North Hanley Road, providing children with bicycle helmets.  The Regional Transit Task Force recognizes the importance of enhanced safety for children who ride bicycles and the increasing number of youth head injuries, which coincide with improving weather and bicycle use.

There will be a limited number of helmets available.  It is the focus of the Regional Transit Task Force to provide safety for the community through numerous means.  Please feel free to come meet members of the Regional Transit Task Force and receive a helmet if you are in need of this vital safety equipment.
