SCCTD Keeps Close Tabs on Their Buses and Stands Ready to Answer Your Questions

SCCTD Logo Color 1Did you know that St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) is able to track the location of all of their buses and know when a bus is late, when it is ahead of schedule, when it breaks down?  This real time information was made possible by GPS trackers that were installed in all the buses in 2013.

With this information, the SCCTD is able to provide improved service for its riders.  For instance, if you are a bus rider and your bus is late, you can call SCCTD and they can tell you where your bus is, how late it’s running and any other information they have on the delay.    And in cases when there is a significant delay, they can go to the site of the bus, assess the situation, and troubleshoot accordingly.

Before the trackers, SCCTD relied primarily on driver check-ins and reports from Metro after the fact.  Now, they are equipped to address questions and concerns as they arise.

If you have any questions about your bus route or service in IL, please contact the SCCTD at (618) 628-8090 between 8 am and 5 pm Monday – Friday, or leave a voicemail or e-mail message at info@scctd.org.
