Possible new Housing development near Maplewood-Manchester Station

maplewoodmetrolinkBrentwood could soon see transit oriented development (TOD) near the Maplewood-Manchester MetroLink station. A development company out of the Kansas City area, Garrison Development, has been working the last few years on a plan to build apartments near the transit station in Brentwood and it seems they are getting closer to starting their project. After securing re-zoning for the area, Garrison Development is currently seeking public-private economic assistance from the City of Brentwood. If all goes according to plan, construction on the project could begin in September of 2018.

Plans for the $17 million-dollar project call for a six-story apartment building to be built at the corner of Manchester and Hanley Roads. The development would include 30 one-bedroom apartments, 42 two-bedroom apartments, and 8 three-bedroom units. The development would also include a covered parking facility, plaza area, and dog park for residents. It is projected that rents for the apartments would range from $1,100 to $1,800 per month. The City of Brentwood would like to include plans for a pedestrian bridge that would link residents of the new apartments to the Maplewood-Manchester MetroLink Station located across the street.

This potential new development would be one MetroLink stop away from another TOD project located near the Sunnen MetroLink Station. Currently under construction is a four-story, 174-unit apartment complex complete with a pool, sundeck, barbeque patio, sport court, and gated parking lot. The project is due to be completed in November of this year.
