As of September 9, Metro Transit welcomed its new safety team – Stephen M. Berry, Kevin B. Scott, and Vernon L. Summers in their new Public Safety leadership roles. “This new team will provide an exciting, fresh start for the Metro Transit Public Safety team toward fulfilling our commitment to a proactive, collaborative approach to security. That goal was implemented in response to customer safety concerns and addresses recommendations from the MetroLink Security Assessment commissioned by the East-West Gateway Council of Governments and conducted by independent contractor WSP. The new security leadership team will be responsible for implementing the transit system’s comprehensive security program,” said Taulby Roach, Bi-State President and CEO.
Stephen M. Berry – General Manager of Metro Transit Public Safety
He is the senior team member, responsible for leading the implementation of the comprehensive security program for the Metro Transit system, and all integrated security and policing activities to ensure our security program is focused on the needs of our transit environment, and incorporating industry best practices across Metro Transit security.

Kevin B. Scott – Director of Security
He leads the Metro Transit Public Safety team and its collaboration with our regional law enforcement partners and contracted security personnel.
Kevin’s previous success in creating a community-oriented policing strategy in Ballwin, Missouri, supports the refinement of Metro Transit’s customer-focused approach to safety and security. He’s a respected member of the region’s law enforcement community.

Vernon L. Summers – Manager of Contract Security
He provides leadership, training and strategic direction for Metro Transit’s current and future contract security teams.
