Beginning on April 1, G4S Secure Solutions will begin providing contract security guard services on the Metro Transit system. The global security firm was approved in December 2019 by the Bi-State Board of Commissioners.
Metro Transit is working with G4S to implement a mobile deployment strategy for the entire system including St. Louis City and County and Illinois. This will also include the deployment of Bi-State’s inhouse Transit Security Specialists (TSSs) throughout the four zones.
The new contract security firm will be customer-oriented including customer engagement, fare enforcement, and higher visibility at the platforms and on the system. In addition, Metro Transit is in the process of posting its new Customer Code of Conduct. The new contract security forces will work closely with TSS’s and the three local law enforcement jurisdictions on the alignment.
