Missouri River Runner Service Reductions Extended Past Thanksgiving

Amtrak’s temporary service reductions for the Missouri River Runner have been extended.  Trains #311 and #316, which normally operate between St. Louis and Kansas City will not be running through December 4, 2022.  Amtrak plans to resume normal operations on December 5.

Amtrak is dealing with staffing shortages impacting their ability to perform necessary preventative maintenance on their fleet of passenger coaches.  Without a full fleet of passenger coaches, Amtrak has had to schedule temporary service reductions in various states since mid-summer.  Trains #318 and #319 will continue to run as usual, as will the Southwest Chief and Texas Eagle trains.
