Metro Transit Launches New Online Trip Planner

Mallory Box
April 15, 2021

Metro Transit is introducing a new version of their online Trip Planner. The new version will replace the current Trip Planner, scheduled to be discontinued at the end of April 2021.

The new Trip Planner is powered by Google Transit, which has all of the MetroLink train and MetroBus schedules, rider alerts, and can track real-time MetroBus information. To plan a trip, enter a starting point and destination, and when the trip is to take place. The itinerary will show the step-by-step instructions for ther commute. Any rider alerts potentially impacting the trip will be displayed under the route, and the color of the trip times can help riders see the status of the bus:

  • Green: On schedule, updating in real-time
  • Red: Delayed, updating in real-time
  • Black: Not updating in real-time, schedule time is displayed

More Trip-Planning Resources

Transit app is another convenient option to not only plan a trip, but also pay for a fare, view schedules and check out the real-time status of a bus – all from a mobile device.
