Metro Transit is a Great Way to Get to STL Play

St. Louis-area residents have an opportunity to head to downtown St. Louis to cheer on all four professional sports teams from the pitch, to the turf, the diamond and the ice this April, making transit the best way to get to St. Louis games.

MetroLink and MetroBus are great ways to catch any of the games and avoid higher parking costs and traffic.

Plan your trip:

Use Metro Transit’s Trip Planner function to generate a personalized route based on your starting point and ending point. The Metro Transit Park-Ride webpage also provides a list of MetroLink stations with Park-Ride lots.

Purchase your fare:

MetroLink: Once you get to the station, you can purchase a physical ticket via a ticket machine outside of the MetroLink platform. Alternatively, you can download the Transit app and purchase a digital ticket. Visit the Metro Transit Fares & Passes webpage to view all fare options and decide what works best for you.

MetroBus: To board a MetroBus, you can download the Transit app, purchase your digital ticket, and show it to the operator. Alternatively, you can purchase your ticket once you have boarded. The farebox excepts coins and bills but you should have exact change as MetroBus operators cannot make change. Visit the Metro Transit Fares & Passes webpage to view fare costs.

Board & ride:

MetroLink: MetroLink operates two lines: the Blue Line and the Red Line. When the train arrives, double-check that it is the one you want. If you need assistance or have concerns while on a platform or MetroLink train, you may contact Metro Transit Information at 314-231-2345 (phone) or 314-207-9786 (text).

MetroBus: Once the bus arrives, be sure the route number shown on the windshield is the route number you want to take. Present your fare and take a seat. When you are nearing your stop, pull the cord or press the vertical strip between the windows to alert the operator that you would like to disembark at the next stop. Questions or concerns can be directed to Metro Transit Information at 314-231-2345 (phone) or 314-207-9786 (text).
