Metro Transit released a series of updates related to their Metro Call-A-Ride program, including changes to look for over the course of the next few months.
Call-A-Ride Phone Provider Change
On Friday, May 24, Call-A-Ride is switching to a new phone provider. As this switchover takes place, the primary Call-A-Ride phone number, 314-982-1505, may not work for short periods. Metro Transit has recommended the following procedure for contacting Call-A-Ride on May 24:
- Call 314-982-1505 as usual.
- If 314-982-1505 does not work, please call 314-202-7041.
- If 314-202-7041 does not work AND you need immediate help about a ride, call 314-593-0223 or 314-593-0225.
- Please note: these other numbers will only work on Friday, May 24.
Upcoming Change to Call-A-Ride Reservation Window
In July, there will be a minor change to the procedure for booking Call-A-Ride trips. After July 5, Call-A-Ride users will be able to call 1-3 days in advance to book a trip, seven days a week. Metro Transit expects this change to shorten wait times, result in shortened call times, and decrease the number of cancellations.
As of July 5:
- You may still schedule rides 1-3 days in advance.
- You will no longer schedule 5 days in advance on Fridays.
- Reservations phone hours will be the same: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 365 days a year.
- Metro will reassess this change after six months.
Metro Transit ADA Customer Advisory Group
Metro’s ADA Service Team is working with community members to reboot the ADA Customer Advisory Group. The first meeting will take place on July 25. Community Engagement
Metro Transit has initiated a series of public meetings called “Community Connect” meetings. Attendees can engage with Metro staff, hear updates, and share suggestions with staff. The remaining meetings in May are listed below:
