You can make a difference this #GivingTuesday, please consider a year-end gift to Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT).
As the regional transit advocacy organization, CMT is continually working to improve and expand transit options throughout the St. Louis region. We recently delivered the 2019 Public Transit Impact Study. Public Transit delivers $3.67 billion in direct and indirect returns to Missouri’s Economy according to 2019 Transit Impact Study. It’s also why more than 22,000 transit riders, major employers, academic institutions, and labor/community organizations continue to assist Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) in its efforts to establish, support, and enhance programming and initiatives to help further public transit. All year-end gifts will help support our advocacy program for the 2020 legislative session. Transit is delivering. Help us get Missouri to deliver.
In 2019, with support from members, partner organizations, and donors CMT worked to:
- Completed the MetroLink Access Project at three highly utilized stations in fall 2018, laying the groundwork for permanent changes to control measures at five stations.
- Initiated quarterly community engagement efforts along the alignment to reinforce the capacity of police presence on the system.
- Encouraged new ridership through the College Transit Challenge with nearly 200 college students and staff pledging to participate in the first College Transit Challenge.
- Engaged the community in the early stages of Placemaking around a busy bus stop in Maplewood.
