Governor appoints new member of Bi-State Board of Commissioners

The Governor has appointed Vernal Brown of St. Louis  to the Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District Board of Commissioners. The Bi-State Development Agency Board of Commissioners provides policy direction for the Bi-State Development Agency, created in 1949 through a compact between Missouri and Illinois.

Brown will replace Kevin Cahill and has worked as a UAW Ford benefits representative in St. Louis since 2000, and began working at the Ford Motor plant in Hazelwood in the mid-1970s. She is a founding member of the UAW Martin Luther King Jr. Non-Violent Committee and the UAW Region 5 Culture Diversity Program. The Governor has appointed her for a term ending Nov. 11, 2016.
