GiveSTL Day an Opportunity to Help Move Placemaking at STL Bus Stops with CMT

Give on May 6. Give the gift that moves St.  Louis through CMT’s work.

Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) and AARP in St. Louis initiated a pilot project through its Transit Placemaking Program in 2019 to transform a bus stop in Maplewood. The effort, known as the “Maplewood Transit Stop Transformation Project,” converted the Maplewood MetroBus Stop – located at the southwest corner of Manchester Rd. and Marshall Ave. – into a fun, artistic space that encourages active play, cultivates community, and increases transit use. CMT and AARP are now transforming the next stop in East St. Louis which should open this summer.

Where do we ‘stop’ next in St. Louis? #GiveSTL Day on May 6 is an opportunity to help expand the Transit Placemaking Program further for communities, corporations and non-profits to partner with CMT and AARP in St. Louis to transform more MetroBus stops possibly in your neighborhood. Give STL Day 2021 is a 24-hour, online day-of-giving event designed to ignite the spirit of giving across the region and support causes in the St. Louis area where we live, work and play.

The CMT Board designated a Pilot Placemaking Fund in 2020. Your gift today on #GiveSTL to #STL can help this program go even further by funding these partnerships in action.
