A recent comprehensive report released in Denver shows how expansion of that city’s transit system could bring major opportunity to traditionally underserved populations – if local agencies take the necessary steps to prepare and coordinate. It is called the Denver Regional Equity Atlas, and will be a tool to assist in the coordination of transportation, housing, jobs, and access to important services.
With Denver in the middle of its multi-billion dollar Fast Tracks transit expansion program, this report will help to better link future transit corridors with low income areas, jobs, healthy food sources, and much more. What proactive way to look at planning for transit and our neighborhoods!
