Metro Transit recently released an update on the progress of the Secure Platform Plan. The Secure Platform Plan encompasses gates, fencing, and cameras for the 39 MetroLink stations throughout the region.
In March, fencing installations were completed at the Washington Park and Jackie Joyner-Kersee MetroLink stations in Illinois. The Emerson Park and College MetroLink stations in Illinois are next on the list for installation.
In late January, a request for bids for Phase II of the Secure Platform Plan was placed for seven stations within St. Louis City. Contract award is currently pending, and Package 2 will start construction on Missouri stations in Spring 2024 with completion in Fall 2024.
The remaining four packages are planned to achieve design completion by December of this year, with construction beginning in Spring 2025 and completed in Fall 2025.
