CMT Teamed Up with SLU for Special Ten Toe Walk

20181208_141511-minOn Saturday December 8, St. Louis University (SLU) and Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) teamed up to host a special Ten Toe Express® walk from the SLU campus to the Steinberg Skating Rink and back.  The event was designed to introduce SLU students to the transit system and the places they can go on Metro.  Student transit passes provide the opportunity get out and explore the region by MetroLink, MetroBus and walking.

“The opportunity to take students out on the transit system gives us the opportunity to help these new riders navigate MetroLink and MetroBus,” said Mallory Box, Director of Programs and Membership with Citizens for Modern Transit.  “We were able to make our trip a teachable transit moment,” she said.

Ten students participated in the walk to Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park, mostly engineering majors.  Students discussed public transit, its impact on growth and development in the areas it serves, and how bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure play an important role in the health of the transit system.
