CMT Talking Transit: Where do you see your MetroLink stop in the Future?

Northside-Southside MetroLink Expansion – North STL County Community Connector

The transit advocacy organization Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) will host its next virtual “Talking Transit” event on June 27 at 8:30 am via Zoom.  This event will examine the route alternatives being analyzed for the North St. Louis County portion of the Northside-Southside MetroLink expansion project.

The Northside-Southside MetroLink expansion plans include a new line in the City of St. Louis along Jefferson Ave., from Chippewa St. to Grand Blvd. and west along Natural Bridge Rd.  The St. Louis County expansion phase, known as the North STL County Community Connector, will travel from Natural Bridge into North St. Louis County.  Four different route alternatives are currently being studied for the North STL County Community Connector.

Kristen Lueken, Project Manager, and Ben Tomhave, Transportation Planner, from AECOM, the consulting firm studying the various route and transit stop alternatives will explore the technical factors guiding the analysis.  CEO of Employment Connection St. Louis Sal Martinez will share how the County portion of the MetroLink expansion will impact communities in the North County Extension Study Area.  Director of Transportation Planning Marcie Meystrik from East-West Gateway Council of Governments will describe what the region can expect from the federal funding process for a project of this scale, and President and CEO of Bi-State Development Taulby Roach will be present to discuss the City  portion and how the project ties together as a regional infrastructure project.

Join us to get up to speed on the Northside-Southside expansion plans and to learn how you can provide input on the proposals being developed.  Registration is free but required.
