CMT Recognized at the Green Business Challenge Awards Celebration

KBB_5209Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) received a Sustainable Business Advantage Award for our efforts to become a greener office.  The impetus for the award was our participation in the St. Louis Regional Chamber’s Sustainable Business Advantage Program.  CMT’s project for the program was the creation of our Green Business Commitment, which summarizes the steps we’ve taken to become a greener business.  We are very proud to be one of the award recipients alongside a wide range of companies working to be more sustainable in the region.

The Sustainable Business Advantage Program and Green Business Challenge are programs designed to, “assist member-companies and organizations in adopting sustainable business practices that can help grow our region’s green economy, reduce environmental impact and improve bottom lines.”  The program was very informative and provided a wealth of resources for becoming a more sustainable office.

Green Business Challenge EIt seemed a natural fit for CMT to participate in the program.  CMT’s daily efforts to advocate, educate, and support an expanded, integrated transit system in the region helps lend itself directly to a greener, more sustainable St. Louis region.  We wanted to complement those efforts and our mission by being sustainable in our operations as well.  Joining the Green Business Challenge was a great way to learn steps to do that, to collaborate with others on a more sustainable region and to make the connection between transit and a thriving and sustainable community.

If you are interested in participating in or learning more about the Green Business Challenge, you will find more information about the program here.
