CMT Board Adopts New Mission Statement

This morning at the Citizens for Modern Transit monthly Board of Director’s meeting board members voted unanimously to adopt an updated mission statement.  The existing mission statement was adopted in 2002. CMT staff and the board felt the mission statement needed to be updated to better reflect the efforts of the organization. The statement has not changed drastically. However, making small changes helps define CMT’s priorities:

New Mission Statement

“CMT leads advocacy efforts for an integrated, affordable, and convenient public transportation system with light rail expansion as the critical component that will drive economic growth to improve quality of life in the St. Louis region.”

Priorities:

  • Advocating for “an integrated, affordable, and convenient public transportation system
  • We believe light rail expansion is critical for the St. Louis region.
  • We believe the transit system and  light rail expansion drives economic growth and improves the quality of life in the St. Louis region.
