Thursday, May 18, 2023 – Strawberry Picking at Eckert’s in Belleville, Illinois

ONE SPOT LEFT!

Try out the SCCTD FLYER and join the CMT Ten Toe Express for a day of strawberry picking at Eckert’s. We will start our day at the Belleville MetroLink Station where we will all use the SCCTD FYLER for our mode of transportation. From the station, the SCCTD FLYER will take us to Eckert’s for strawberry picking. Once there, walkers can roam around the fields and pick their own berries. Walkers are invited to stop at Eckert’s Restaurant for lunch, and a chance to look around the shop located on the property.

Thursday, June 8, 2023 – Grant’s Trail Hike and Ulysses S. Grant Historic Site Tour

Get ready to learn more about the history of St. Louis with a walk along Grant’s Trail. After fueling up at local breakfast favorite, Yolklore, we’ll walk 1.5 miles along Grant’s Trail to the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Ulysses S. Grant is known as the victorious Civil War general who saved the Union and the 18th President of the United States. He first met Julia Dent, his future wife, at her family home on this site, named White Haven. From 1854 to 1859 the Dents, Grants and an enslaved African American workforce lived on the property.

AARP Brunch Bunch* Walks – Saturdays

Explore new areas of St. Louis, get in some exercise, and enjoy brunch with the AARP in St. Louis Brunch Bunch. AARP in St. Louis is proud to once again serve as the presenting sponsor of the CMT Ten Toe Express program.

AARP volunteers will lead you on a journey starting with a ride on MetroLink to one of the many destinations in the St. Louis region. There you’ll have time to explore what the site has to offer. We will cap off our time together by enjoying a yummy meal* at one of our many great St. Louis area restaurants before taking MetroLink back to the Shrewsbury Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink Station.
