Cella Re-elected to Missouri Public Transit Association Board

kimprofileCMT Executive Director Kimberly Cella has been re-elected to another 2 year term on the Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA) Board of Directors. The term begins December, 2013.

The Missouri Public Transit Association was established to represent the interests, policies, requirements and purposes of public transit in Missouri including promoting research and investigations toward improving public transit in the state.  MPTA keeps a close eye on legislation affecting public transit and also advocates for equitable public funding for transit services. Since 1994, they have helped secure over $40 million in federal capital earmarks to purchase vehicles and upgrade facilities statewide.  At the state level, MPTA has advocated successfully for funding increases in the Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Assistance Program (MEHTAP) and secured dedicated state funding for operating assistance to systems across the state.  www.mptaonline.com
