Bi-State Development Recognizes CMT for 35 years of Transit Advocacy

IMG_3841Bi-State Development recognized Citizens for Modern Transit at their September Board meeting for 35 years of transit advocacy in the region.   CMT Board Chair June McAllister Fowler and Executive Director Kimberly Cella were on hand to receive the award from Bi-State CEO and President Taulby Roach and Bi-State Board Chair Mike Buehlhorn.

“We are honored to receive this award. As advocates, we know that we are not always going to be Metro’s cheerleaders but sometimes the irritant, however, that makes for a successful system moving forward,” said Fowler.

“Thirty-five years certainly has a way of flying by – but when you take a moment to pause and reflect – it truly is amazing to see all that have been accomplished to further public transportation in the St. Louis region in the past three-and-a-half decades.  It is all about relationships, partnerships and the willingness to work together towards a common goal … We look forward to seeing where the next 35 years takes the region through collaborations and partnerships,” said Cella.
