This month, CMT’s Fall 2014 Ten Toe Express Session will conclude and as always, there is so much to celebrate! Firstly, CMT thanks its Ten Toe Express long term volunteer walk leaders who make this program the success that it is: Dan and Meredith O’Connor, Norm and Joan Krumrey, Mary Blaies, Loretta Davis and Mary Fran Balmer. CMT is also partnering with Beyond Housing on the Rock Road Walk Group, and has Stephanie Co and her team of walk leaders to thank there!
In total, we had 739 participants in 2014, a record breaking year for the program. Walkers met weekly at 6 different stations to explore the region using transit. Special regional walks included an African American History Tour of Downtown St. Louis, a tour of The Loop with Joe Edwards, a tour of Washington, MO, a Downtown Development tour, an introduction to the connections between the MetroLink and Great Rivers Greenway Trails, and more!
Another big accomplishment this year was the redesign of the Ten Toe Express website. Thanks to the amazing work, diligence, and creativity of Jonathan Lehman from Cambium Creative, we now have an easy to navigate and visually appealing new website. If you haven’t taken a look, check it out here! Jonathan himself took all the amazing pictures and we now have wonderful images to use for promotions in the future.
Those of you interested in participating next year, please keep a couple dates in mind! The 2015 Spring Session will kick off on April 2 with a walk done in partnership with AARP. We will be focusing on aging and accessibility, and we have a few fun walks in the works. Registration dates available soon.
