The St. Louis region will host its first ever OneSTL Sustainability Summit in 2017. The 2017 Sustainability Summit is a collaborative effort by many organizations and businesses, local governments, academic institutions, and non-profits across the region — including Citizens for Modern Transit.
The summit will be held at the Eric P. Newman Center at Washington University on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. The theme for the event, Setting Targets for Our Shared Future, will follow seven different tracks in an effort to illustrate inter-sectional issues and efforts falling under the umbrella of sustainability.
Topics
- Buildings, Land Use & Community Development
- Water & Green Infrastructure
- Materials & Recycling
- Energy & Emissions
- Transportation
- Biodiversity
- Food
This conference seeks to identify specific targets and goals that lead to strategies to achieve a sustainable, equitable future. The targets and goals identified will be included, along with recommended actions and strategies to achieve those goals, in a post-conference report that can serve as a reference point for planners, government officials and other decision makers to review and revise their plans and efforts. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with professionals in higher education, multinational corporations, local businesses, public service agencies and many more.
Any questions about the summit, can be directed toward Aaron Young (aaron.young@ewgateway.org), Liz Kramer (kramer@wustl.edu), or Jen Myerscough (jen@stlouisearthday.org).
