Since 2020, transit riders throughout the bi-state region have witnessed the transformation of seven transit stops. Each project features the conversion of large, grey, concreted areas into vibrant and engaging corridors with seating, shade structures, greenery and artwork. Now, the partners responsible for these projects – Citizens for Modern Transit, AARP in St. Louis, St. Clair County Transit District and Metro Transit – are excited to announce the MetroBus Stop at 10227 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights, Ill., as the location for the eighth transformation. Partnering organizations have issued an RFP for the engineers, designers, architects, artists and inter-disciplinary teams needed to transform this simple stop into a fun, comfortable space that cultivates community.
The deadline is Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 4 p.m. To learn more about the size, scope and impact of “Transit Stop Transformation” projects in the St. Louis region, click here.
