Newly Revamped Ten Toes + Transit Program Unveiled

Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) is excited to unveil its newly revamped Ten Toes + Transit program known for helping more than 10,000 active older adults integrate walking and public transit use to explore area attractions in a social setting. The program has a new name and look – as well as new features – yet continues to serve as a great way to stay active, make new friends, become better familiarized with MetroLink and MetroBus, and have fun.

The Ten Toes + Transit program hosts 12-week, guided walking groups that originate at a variety of different Metro Transit Centers across the region. Groups meet a trained volunteer walk leader and together take a quick trip via transit, then walk 0.25 to 5 miles while exploring an area attraction, grabbing lunch or a snack, and heading back. This spring, participants will also be able to take part in special tours, Coffee Club walks and Happy Hour excursions. There is also a new option that allows individuals to register for the entire session or just a single walk.

Registration will open in mid-February and at that time additional information will be released. Stay tuned … because Ten Toes + Transit is your connection to healthy living.
