Metro Transit has announced that the installation of security gates as part of their Secure Platform Plan at both the Forest Park-DeBaliviere and Central West End MetroLink Stations is nearing completion and will come online on Friday, February 28. Beginning on Friday, transit riders entering the MetroLink platform will be asked to show security officers a valid pass or transit ticket before being allowed through the gate and onto the platform to board a MetroLink train.
Metro Transit will have staff at both stations from 3:30 to 7:30 PM on February 27th informing riders about the upcoming change. The staff will be at the stations again on February 28th between 6:30 and 10:30 AM and again between 3:30 and 7:30 PM to assist riders who may not be aware of the change or have questions about the new process.
