Metro Transit recently released their plans for an upcoming quarterly service change set to go into effect on Monday, June 17 which includes increases in service levels on many MetroBus routes. Metro Transit credits their recent success in hiring and training more MetroBus operators with their ability to increase service on routes seeing heavy ridership, as well as restoring some service which had been cut back over the past two years.
“Frequency matters to riders, and Metro’s upcoming service change will help improve access for many riders and residents with more trips per hour. For example, the highest ridership Grand Line will now have five buses per hour vs. four which doesn’t seem like a lot, but for riders, it makes a significant difference every day for other connections and arrival at your final destination,” said Kim Cella, executive director of CMT. “We look forward to seeing continued improvement in service as Metro’s rebuilds its operator team.”
Service Changes Effective June 17 Include:
#4 Natural Bridge: Runtime Adjustments. Weekdays and Weekends. Adjusted for better On Time Performance. Added time between Civic Center Transit Center and Grand Ave.
#8 Shaw Cherokee: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays and Weekends. Weekday daytime service will reduce to 40 minutes from 30 minutes. Weekday night and weekend service will return to 60 minutes from 120 minutes.
#10 Gravois: Schedule Adjustment. Weekends only. Nighttime service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes.
#11 Chippewa: Schedule Adjustment. Weekends only. Nighttime service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes.
#21 Watson Road: Runtime Adjustments. Weekdays and Weekends. Adjusted for better On Time Performance.
#34 Earth City: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Leaving N. Hanley Transit moved 8 minutes later to make better connections with other buses.
#47 N. Hanley: Schedule Adjustments. Weekdays only. Service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes.
#49 Lindbergh: Route Change and Runtime Adjustment. Route will continue on Ashby Road to Dorsett Road then back onto Lindbergh Blvd. to improve the safety of the route. Runtime adjusted for better On Time Performance.
#60 Shepley-Lilac: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays and Weekends. Weekday rush hour service will increase to 30 minutes from 60 minutes and service after 8pm will return for all 7 days of the week.
#61 Chambers: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Add daytime service will increase to 20 minutes from 30 minutes and nighttime service will increase to 30 minutes from 40 minutes.
#70 Grand: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Add daytime service will increase to 12 minutes from 15 minutes.
#73 CARONDELET: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Daytime service will increase to 20 minutes from 30/40 minutes. Nighttime service will reduce to 40 minutes from 30 minutes to better meet Metrolink.
#74 FLORISSANT: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays and Weekends. Weekdays will increase daytime service to 20 minutes from 40 minutes. Saturday nighttime service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes.
#76 McDonnell: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays and Weekends. Service after 8pm will return for all 7 days of the week.
#78 Bellefontaine: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays and Weekends. Service after 8pm will return for all 7 days of the week.
#79 Ferguson: Schedule and Runtime Adjustments. Weekdays and Weekends. Service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes and service after 8pm will return for all 7 days of the week. Adjusted runtime for better on time performance.
#90 Hampton: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Nighttime service will increase to 40 minutes from 60 minutes.
#91 Olive: Schedule Adjustment. Weekday daytime service will reduce to 40 minutes from 30 minutes.
#94 Page: Route Change and Runtime Adjustment. Route will be routed to the QT on Progress Parkway at Dorsett to allow for a break for Operators. Adjusted runtime for better on time performance.
#95 Kingshighway: Schedule Adjustment. Weekdays only. Daytime service will increase to 20 minutes from 30 minutes.
#97 Delmar: Runtime Adjustments. Weekdays and Weekends. Adjusted for better On Time Performance.
#98: Ballas N. Hanley: Schedule Adjustment. Weekday and Weekends. Nighttime service will return to 60 minutes from 120 minutes.
