As the region’s transit advocacy organization, Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) works to champion, challenge and encourage the advancement of public transit access to
better connect communities, promote equity and drive economic growth. Our vision, tenacity and extraordinary leadership also play a fundamental role in helping maintain a safe, integrated and affordable transportation system for the St. Louis region. To continue mobilizing our transit advocacy efforts, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you.
This past year alone, contributions helped us:
- Secure funding for transit development and expansion;
- Commission pilot programming, studies and assessments to quantify the value of transit, make informed decisions and advance transit accessibility;
- Establish programming that meets ever-evolving marketplace needs;
- Ensure a safe and secure ride for all;
- Keep elected officials and key stakeholders informed on transit-related issues and opportunities;
- Transform the areas around transit stops into vibrant, engaging spaces;
- Build grassroot support for both riders and non-riders;
- Host quarterly Talking Transit and Commuter Engagement events;
- Build ridership; and
- Promote the benefits of taking public transit.
These efforts have played a key role in helping to preserve and enhance existing neighborhoods, promote unity, achieve regional objectives, reinforce existing public and private investments, and provide improved public transportation options for area residents and all who visit the region.
As we head into 2025, there is a lot to be excited about. CMT will continue working to increase community collaboration and support for transit at the regional and state levels, help grow ridership numbers, further safety and security efforts, support expansion efforts and continue creating programming that helps ease rider usability.
In order to do this, we need your help. Please consider making a special year-end, tax deductible gift today by mail or online. Your donation will go along way towards furthering our efforts and will make a lasting impact on public transit for decades to come.
