The River des Peres Greenway is a developing recreation and transportation corridor that will stretch from Forest Park to the Mississippi River. This year CMT will highlight the Greenway as a part of the Fall 2015 Ten Toe Express kick-off Walk on September 1 with Great Rivers Greenway.
The greenway currently connects seven parks, three business districts and six neighborhoods with the Shrewsbury MetroLink station. The Ten Toes walking tour will highlight the important connections between transportation, recreation and stormwater management. Along the tour, guest walk leaders from Great Rivers Greenway will highlight the native landscaping on the greenway, rain gardens, a “living wall”, shopping and dining destinations and a park with a bicycle education area.
The group will meet at the Shrewsbury MetroLink for a brief welcome and introduction to guest walk leaders from Great Rivers Greenway. The group will then head out on River Des Peres Greenway.
Register today for the Fall Ten Toe Express. You must be officially registered with CMT’s Ten Toe Express to participate in the walks.

Check out what some of the current CMT Ten Toe Express participants have to say about the program:
Mary Stahl
“I’d have to echo who said meeting nice people and getting to a variety of places that I’d never do on my own. I’m familiar with transit since I’ve always taken buses to work, but only downtown, not in other areas. I don’t like the real long walks, yours are a good mix.”
Mary Etta Skinner
“The Ten Toes Express gets me up and out to have conversations, to see an unknown part of St. Louis, and to discover a new place to eat lunch all in one morning.”
Dianna Pappas
“The Ten Express Walks have given me a much greater appreciation of Saint Louis.”
Joan Miller
“The walks keep me active and I see places I probably wouldn’t go by myself and of course I always enjoy the friendly people I meet. My favorite thing to do is lunch, so that is a plus.”
Norm and Joan Krumrey
“We found so many hidden treasures in St Louis that are all accessible by the CMT Metro system. The biggest benefit has been the many new friends we have made from all over the city.”
