CMT Celebrated 40 Years – Now Stepping into Tomorrow

Members, stakeholders, elected officials and friends joined us on June 20 in celebration of Citizens for Modern Transit’s 40th Anniversary. We reminisced about the organization’s work over the last four decades to champion, challenge, encourage and advocate for public transit – while reaffirming our mission to increase access, drive economic growth and improve quality of life in the St. Louis region as we move into the future. Check out the below recap video shared during the event.

Since its establishment, CMT has grown to represent more than 22,000 transit riders, major employers, academic institutions and labor and community organizations. The organization is counted on to serve as a strong and effective voice on transit-related matters – and that is not taken lightly.

As CMT steps into tomorrow, it will continue drawing on its vision, tenacity and steadfast leadership to establish, support and enhance programming, funding mechanisms, collaborations and other initiatives to further transit access.

Continue to join us on this journey – there is much still to be accomplished.
