Citizens for Modern Transit has teamed up with AARP in St. Louis and Metro Transit to activate the space around a city bus stop at 13th and Gravois near Soulard. This joint initiative, known as the “Transit Stop Transformation Project,” will transform the area around the MetroBus stop into a welcoming, engaging space that cultivates community and increases transit use.
Construction on the site began in December 2024 with a new walkway and concrete pad for the bench and bus shelter. Due to supply chain issues the delivery of the new bus shelter has been delayed until late February. While the delay is unfortunate, CMT and partners are excited about the progress made and will continue to provide updates as we await delivery. Next step is the replacement of the sidewalk by the City of St. Louis including ADA ramps at each intersection as part of the project.
Look for an opening in late February/early March. CMT appreciates everyone’s patience as we work through this project.
