8th & Pine MetroLink Station in Downtown St. Louis Set to Reopen Dec. 16; Convention Center to Close Starting Jan. 6

Metro Transit announced that the 8th & Pine MetroLink station in downtown St. Louis will reopen on Monday, December 16. The station was initially closed in April 2024 to accommodate the installation of new staircases, lighting, structural work and other improvements.

Transit riders entering and exiting the 8th & Pine station on Monday will be greeted by Metro staff between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. as Metro welcomes riders back to the station.

Next in line for improvements is the Convention Center MetroLink Station, also in downtown St. Louis. The Convention Center station will close starting Monday, January 6. Metro Transit expects the station to be closed for several months while it undergoes maintenance and repairs. While the station is closed, Metro will operate a Metro shuttle van as a courtesy to transit riders traveling to or from destinations surrounding the Convention Center Station.
