Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) is pleased to announce that Mayor Cara Spencer will serve as the keynote speaker at its upcoming Annual Meeting. As the 48th mayor of the City of St. Louis, Spencer has quickly emerged as a champion for transparency, accountability and strategic investment aimed at strengthening the region’s future.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Mayor Spencer has dedicated her career to public service and improving quality of life for residents. Since taking office in April 2025, she has focused on building a safer, more equitable and prosperous city through responsible governance, economic development and neighborhood investment. Her leadership has included efforts to improve public safety, increase government transparency, protect public assets and support community-driven initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods across the city.
As CMT continues its work to advance transit advocacy, rider amenities, community engagement and regional mobility, Mayor Spencer’s perspective on transit in the City of St. Louis will provide valuable insights for attendees. CMT believes strong, integrated transit accessibility is essential to getting people where they need to go, stimulating economic growth and expanding opportunity. These themes align closely with Mayor Spencer’s vision for St. Louis and its future.
CMT’s Annual Meeting brings together transit riders, employers, elected officials, community organizations and regional stakeholders to celebrate recent accomplishments and discuss opportunities ahead.
