Employment Connection and Bywater Development Group are set to host a  groundbreaking ceremony for University Crossing, a transit-oriented mixed-use development at the North Hanley MetroLink Station and Transit Center on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. The $20 million development includes 60 new mixed-income residential units along with commercial space for a new Employment Connection satellite office to better serve residents of North St. Louis County.

In October 2024, the Missouri Housing Development Commission approved the financing for the University Crossing development.   This approval marked the launch of the mixed-use development on the site.  In addition, the development will include the establishment of a new North St. Louis County office of Employment Connection to serve the residents of this development and the larger community with employment and career advancement training and support. The project is estimated to be completed by late 2026.
