An earlier version of this post shared that the Brentwood I-64 MetroLink Station walkway connecting the MetroLink platform to Dierbergs and the Brentwood Pointe shopping plaza would be closed starting Monday, July 14. Metro Transit has since announced that closure will be postponed until July 28.
Metro Transit has announced the upcoming temporary closures of walkways at the Brentwood I-64 and Forsyth MetroLink stations later this month as part of construction work for the Secure Platform Plan (SPP). These closures are necessary to allow for the installation of new infrastructure aimed at enhancing rider safety and system security. Upgrades will include fencing, gates and additional surveillance cameras.
Beginning Monday, July 21, the accessible ramp at the Forsyth Station will close for several weeks to allow construction. During this period, riders traveling to or from Forsyth Station who require an elevator or an accessible ramp will need to use an ADA Shuttle. The ADA Shuttle will transport riders between the Richmond Heights and Forsyth Stations:
The ADA Shuttle is being scheduled to match train arrival times to minimize delays for riders during the construction work. Both ADA walkways are scheduled to reopen in August.
Starting Monday, July 28, the east entrance to the Brentwood I-64 Station will close for 3 weeks to allow construction. During this time frame, riders can use a Metro shuttle van to travel between the station and nearby Brentwood Pointe shopping plaza to access the station through the west entrance. The shuttle van will operate every 10 minutes from stops on Musick Memorial Drive near the Brentwood I-64 Station and near the walkway entrance on Hanley Industrial Drive.
Riders should look for posted signs with instructions for accessing the Brentwood I-64 station. Additional information on these upcoming closures is available on Metro Transit’s website.
