The University City-Big Bend MetroLink Station reopened to service on Tuesday, January 6. The station had been temporarily closed since mid-December for the installation of new infrastructure and upgrades through the Secure Platform Plan, which enhances customer safety and improves the passenger experience on MetroLink with new security gates, fencing, and real-time surveillance cameras.
At the beginning of service on Tuesday, January 6, the University City-Big Bend Station’s westbound entrance and elevator (located on the north side of Big Bend Blvd.) reopened; MetroLink trains resumed service to the station; and the Metro Shuttle van in place during the temporary closure ceased operations.
The station’s eastbound entrance (located on the south side of Big Bend Blvd.) will remain closed for construction work and is expected to reopen during the week of January 12. During this period, MetroLink passengers can use the station’s westbound entrance and elevator to access both eastbound and westbound MetroLink trains at the station.
