The Lou Rides Metro . . . Will You?
Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT), Metro Transit and the St. Clair County Transit District are teaming up with St. Louis’ own professional hockey team mascot Louie for a public awareness campaign that coincides with the St. Louis’ hockey season. The goal is to promote public transit as the ideal way to get to gameday, as well as to work and anywhere else you need to go.
As part of the promotion, individuals can go to www.CommuteLikeAChamp.com and get a FREE Metro Adventure Day Pass (valued at $5) so they can give transit a try.
“MetroLink and MetroBus provide a convenient, cost-effective means to get to Enterprise Center, enabling St. Louis fans to save gas money, avoid parking fees and breakaway from traffic congestion,” stated Kimberly Cella, executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit. “It can also get individuals to work/school, medical appointments, grocery stores, shopping meccas, entertainment venues and anywhere else they need/want to go. For those who have not yet utilized public transportation, this presents an excellent opportunity to consider its benefits.”
Be on the lookout for campaign messaging on transit ads, billboards, community boards, social media, mailers, community events and more during select hockey games. On Friday, October 17, CMT’s Street Team will be at various transit centers from 6:30-8:00 a.m. with giveaways and handouts for riders encouraging them to register for a free transit pass at www.CommuteLikeAChamp.com and for the Guaranteed Ride Home program via CMT’s website at www.cmt-stl.org.
All those who register for a free transit pass at CommuteLikeAChamp.com will be entered to win a new St. Louis Blues jersey courtesy of Citizens for Modern Transit.
