Father Dickson Cemetery is a historical African American cemetery. With its position along Grant’s Trail and next to the Thomas Sappington House Museum, there is plenty to see and do nearby. We will be joined at the cemetery by Mary Ellen Kruger, a member of the cemetery’s Board of Directors, for a guided tour of the cemetery, including some of the figures of interest who are buried at the site. We will finish with lunch (for those interested) at The Barn restaurant, located just next to the cemetery.

For this walk, we will meet at the Shrewsbury Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink station, board MetroBus # 56, before walking approximately .75 mile down Grant’s Trail to the cemetery. After the tour and lunch, we will walk back to the bus stop on Big Bend Road before returning to Shrewsbury MetroLink.
