On November 12, the City of St. Louis’s Planning Commission adopted the Transportation & Mobility Plan, officially making it part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan moving forward. The Transportation & Mobility Plan was developed over the course of 18 months and was crafted with significant input from the public, including an advisory group, open house events, surveys, and presentations at community events. The plan establishes new priorities focused on safety, maintenance, and improved mobility for people walking, biking, using public transit, and driving.

The plan introduces updated design standards, emphasizes protection for vulnerable road users, and incorporates national best practices and modern technologies. Key elements include expanded pedestrian infrastructure, a connected bike network, and stronger integration of transit facilities to support first-last mile connections. It also recommends updates to city policies, engineering standards, and staffing roles to support multimodal planning and community engagement.

The plan is currently being edited to include public comments but the draft is available for review here. Once final edits are made, the Transportation & Mobility Plan will be made available on the City of St. Louis’s website.
