Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) is pleased to welcome Dillon Colbert as an intern for fall 2025. During his time with the regional transit advocacy organization, Colbert will gain hands-on experience in the transit industry, supporting office operations, assisting with programming, and representing CMT at various community and organization-sponsored events.

Dillon is a recent graduate of WashU, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering with a Minor in Energy Engineering. He has a strong foundation in climate science, having served as an Assistant Instructor for WashU’s E44 EECE 314: Air Quality with Lab course and a Building Decarbonization Intern at the Midwest Climate Collaborative, but has now directed his focus primarily to transportation infrastructure. He is the immediate past president of AccessSTL, a WashU student organization advocating to increase St. Louis transit utilization, where he led transformational changes to the club’s structure and initiatives with partners like the WashU Office of Sustainability and Metro Transit. As a St. Louis native and a staunch supporter of public transit, Colbert has actively involved himself in various environmentally conscious initiatives regarding its use in the area.

“We look forward to having Dillon on our team to help us not only with programming but with building our critical research resources,” said Kim Cella, executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit.
