Where do the transportation bills stand with 2 weeks to go in MO session?

mo-sealToday marks the beginning of the last two weeks of Missouri’s legislative session.  Both chambers will reconvene today with the House at 4:00 p.m. and the Senate at 1:30 p.m.  Where do the transportation bills stand in MO as we move into the final stretch?

BUDGET BILLS

The House and Senate placed the FY14 budget bills in conference on April 30.  Budget conference committee meetings will begin on May 6 with a constitutional deadline of May 10 for final passage.  Please consider contacting your elected officials about reinstating the additional $500,000 for public transit that was removed in the Senate.  Email or phone them today!

TRANSPORTATION PROPOSAL

SJR 16 (Kehoe) did not come up last week for debate in the House.  A 15% allocation amendment has been submitted by Representative Stream for alternative modes. It is anticipated to come up this week.

TRANSIT ASSAULT

HB 335 (Hinson) has yet to be scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Jobs, Economic Development and Local Government Committee.
