Support CMT on #GiveSTL Day, May 11!

bug.orgMark you calendars: Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) is participating in this year’s Give STL Day on May 11, 2017!

Give STL Day is a 24-hour, online giving event organized by the St. Louis Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Prize money will be available to amplify charitable donations, and prizes to incentivize donors to give. The goal of Give STL Day is to inspire the community to come together for 24 hours to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of local nonprofit organizations.

Pre-schedule your donation to CMT for Give STL Day!

Your gift to CMT on Give STL Day helps us move closer to “an integrated, affordable, and convenient public transportation system with light rail expansion as the critical component that will drive economic growth to improve quality of life in the St. Louis region.” Check out this neat infographic that shows you how your donation helps support our programming, and what it can bring to your business. GiveSTLDay 2017 infograph CMT

We will have “matching gift hours” throughout the day, as well, where your donation will be doubled if you give within a certain time frame. For example, if you give to CMT through Give STL Day between 12:00 noon and 1 p.m., your gift (up to $250) will be matched by a CMT board member. If you give between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., your donation (up to $100) will be matched by another CMT member.

Give STL Day offers an innovative platform in which you can focus your dollars on local nonprofits. Donors can give to any nonprofit that has registered to participate. Participating nonprofits have a donation page where you can choose the amount you want to donate. This is CMT’s donation page. Donations begin at $10 and the maximum is $100,000. Donors can make multiple donations to one or more nonprofit from the givestlday.org homepage on May 11.  Donations qualify as a charitable gift, and are therefore tax deductible. Donors will receive an email confirming the deduction from the St. Louis Community Foundation.

The St. Louis Community Foundation does not keep any portion of donations to nonprofits. The donation will go to the organization donors select, minus a small transaction cost. Donors will have the option to help cover the credit card and processing fees.
