Photo: Tim EbyOn December 23, UMSL began a “trial” Faculty/Staff discounted Metro Pass program.  Employees of UMSL can now purchase a semester long (Jan – May) Metro transit pass for $55.00. This represents a significant cost savings over Metro’s standard monthly pass which costs $68.00 (savings of $285).  With this pass employees have unlimited access to Metrobus and Metrolink service throughout the semester.  Participants are required to sign the back of the pass and carry a valid employee ID when using it.

The University of Missouri – St. Louis is delighted to offer a Faculty/Staff Metro Pass program that is similar to the very popular student pass program. The University is pleased to support public transportation in our region and having two metro link stops on campus make it very convenient for our faculty, staff, and students. It is our hope that the Faculty/Staff program will be successful and can be continued beyond the Spring 2012 semester.” Said UMSL Vice Provost  and CMT Board Member Curt Coonrod about the new program.

Note: The program is a considered a “trial” as UMSL tries to gauge Faculty/Staff interest in the program. The level of participation will greatly affect whether or not the University will be able to continue the program.
