Planners designated the following stations for this alternative:

  • Fair Avenue at Natural Bridge Road
  • Newstead at Natural Bridge Road
  • Kingshighway at Natural Bridge Road
  • Union at Natural Bridge Road
  • I-70
  • Riverview
  • Jennings Station
  • Northland
  • Chambers Road at W. Florissant Ave.
  • Florissant Valley Community College


It would be completed in two phases with the first phase ending at the Northland Shopping Center in Jennings. The cost for the entire route would be $485.5 million.

The East-West Gateway directors also included a link between the north expansion and the west expansion that would follow the Terminal Railroad right-of-way connection designed to help people in north St. Louis to get to jobs in West County. There is no cost estimate as of yet for this link.

Alternative 3 Light Rail Transit
Alternative 3 follows:

  • Union Pacific Railroad Right-of-Way
  • At Loughborough, I-55 Right-of-Way
  • At Bayless, Trailnet Grant's Trail
  • Cross County MetroLink Segment II
This route would connect in Green Park with the Cross County Phase II extension from Shrewsbury to Interstate 55 and Butler Hill Road in Oakville.

  • MetroLink alignment
  • 14th Street at Chouteau
  • Jefferson at Chouteau
  • Grand Ave. at Chouteau
  • Shaw at I-44
  • Arsenal
  • Chippewa near Gravois

  • Loughborough at I-55
  • Bayless at I-55
  • Reavis Barracks at I-55
  • Green Park
  • South County Center
  • Butler Hill at I-55


The cost for this route would be $614.3 million.
